At Northern Rivers Psychology, we have experienced psychologists on our team, including clinical psychologists. Our practitioners are dedicated to providing high-quality, evidence-based psychological services to the Northern Rivers community.
All our psychologists are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and adhere to the highest professional and ethical standards.

Clinical Psychologist and Director
Alex is a clinical psychologist and board-approved supervisor. She holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of New England at Armidale. She provides diagnostic assessment and treatment to adolescents, adults and seniors. She holds practice certificates in disaster response and services for older adults and is an ANZAED credentialed eating disorder clinician. Alex uses a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Interpersonal Psychotherapy. Eating disorder treatment modalities include FBT, CBTe and SSCM. Alex also treats individuals with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, chronic pain, insomnia, carers of individuals with neurocognitive impairment, psychosis syndromes, PTSD, ADHD, adolescent/adult autism spectrum disorder, gender dysphoria and complex trauma.
Alex's undergraduate training was completed summa cum laude in New York City, with H1 honours and post-graduate qualification in Australia after settling in the Northern Rivers with her family. She divides her time between this practice and academia following several years in public mental health, and was named 2025 NNSW-LHD Allied Health Researcher of the Year. Alex's accepted funding streams include self-pay, Medicare mental health care plans + gap fee, DVA, NDIS, NSW WorkCover, WorkSafe Victoria, NSW Victims of Crimes, VIC TAC and Healthy Minds/Head to Health/EACH. Alex also provides 5+1 supervision to provisional psychologists on a limited basis; please enquire for availability and fees.

Registered Psychologist
Bronwyn is a registered psychologist who works with adults, children (12 years +) and young people. She has worked in private practice as well as community health, school, and not-for-profit settings, with clients with mood and anxiety disorders, trauma-related disorders, substance abuse, chronic pain, ADHD, neurodiversity, learning difficulties, grief and bereavement, eating disorders and serious mental illnesses.
In therapy Bronwyn uses a range of evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). She hopes to provide a warm and supportive environment that is safe and inclusive, with the goal of promoting a strong therapeutic relationship and a collaborative approach to help clients to achieve their goals.
Bronwyn grew up in Sydney and moved to the Northern Rivers in 2008. She studied Psychological Science with Honours and a Masters of Professional Psychology at the University of New England.
Bronwyn is fully registered as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA), a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists inc (AAPi), an Associate Member of the EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA), and accepts funding from Medicare + gap fee, NDIS, NSW Victims of Crime and Healthy Minds/Head to Health/EACH.

Registered Psychologist
Christopher has 25 years' experience helping people navigate mood, trauma, and substance use. After studying philosophy and law at the University of Sydney in the 90s, he had the breakdown he needed to have and discovered the world of psychotherapy. He trained in Gestalt and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), completed postgraduate studies in psychology, and has worked at the Buttery drug rehab therapeutic community, NSW Health, and in private practice. He's been published in the Sydney Law Review and the Journal of Gambling Studies, and his groundbreaking but tortuously titled book The Cicada and the Bird: The Usefulness of a Useless Philosophy (Chuang Tzu's Ancient Wisdom Translated for Modern Life) received mixed reviews from family and friends.
